This website is dedicated to the memory of Jan Karol "John C." Bambenek (1891-1966) and Leokadia Weronika "Laura V." (nee Pellowski) Bambenek (1892-1946), Kashubian Americans who made their home at 578 East Fifth Street in Winona, Minnesota.
Kashubia is a region in northwestern Poland, home to about 200,000 people today, with a language and a culture that most Poles do not understand. Kashubia is where our family came from. We are not only Polish American - we are Kashubian American.
